Meal Plans

How do I sign up for a meal plan?

Resident students are automatically assigned the 17 Meals per Week Meal Plan. Commuters, faculty, and staff may choose from any plan offered. Stop in the Dining Office, located in Howerton Dining Hall, to sign up.

What is Cavalier Cash?

Cavalier Cash is a declining balance account used to make a la carte food and beverage purchase from The Huckleberry or you can use them to purchase a meal Howerton Dining Hall. Each time you make a purchase that amount plus NC sales tax is deducted from your account. Cavalier Cash comes with most Meal Plans. Meal dollars that come with your Meal Plan may not be transferred from semester to semester within the same academic year the meal plan was purchased. At the end of each semester, any unused funds will be forfeited.

Can I carry meals over to the next week?

Yes, you can carry over meals on the "Any Meals Block" Meal Plans. No, you cannot carry over meals on the "Meals per Week" Meal Plans.

Does Cavalier Cash on my Meals per Week Meal Plan carry over to the next semester?

No. The Cavalier Cash that is part of your Meal Plan does not carry over from semester to semester. However, if you add more Cavalier Cash to your account, it will remain on your account until you use it all or leave Montreat College, at which point you can request a refund.

Can I treat a friend to a meal?

You can! While only you can use your all-you-care-to-eat meals, one per meal period, you can use Cavalier Cash to treat a friend.

How can I add more Cavalier Cash to my account?

Simple! Just come by the Howerton Dining Hall Office. Cash, check, money order, VISA, or MasterCard are accepted.

Why do I have to create an account in order to check out?

For you, and us, to be able to best track orders, and to be able to contact you in case of a question regarding your order we ask that you create a CampusDish account.
